Your Trait Analysis

A detailed look at each personality dimension

Openness

Openness means being creative and open to new ideas

Genetic signal: 96%

Openness to experience is one of the domains which are used to describe human personality in the Five Factor Model. Openness involves six facets, or dimensions, including active imagination (fantasy), aesthetic sensitivity, attentiveness to inner feelings, preference for variety, and intellectual curiosity. A great deal of psychometric research has demonstrated that these facets or qualities are significantly correlated. Thus, openness can be viewed as a global personality trait consisting of a set of specific traits, habits, and tendencies that cluster together. Openness tends to be normally distributed with a small number of individuals scoring extremely high or low on the trait, and most people scoring moderately. People who score low on openness are considered to be closed to experience. They tend to be conventional and traditional in their outlook and behavior. They prefer familiar routines to new experiences, and generally have a narrower range of interests. Openness has moderate positive relationships with creativity, intelligence and knowledge. Openness is related to the psychological trait of absorption, and like absorption has a modest relationship to individual differences in hypnotic susceptibility.

Your tendency summary Those who are lower in openness tend to be averse to change and skeptical of new ideas.

Conscientiousness

Conscientiousness reflects the tendency to be responsible, organized, hard-working, goal-directed, and to adhere to norms and rules

Genetic signal: 96%

Conscientiousness is the personality trait of being careful, or diligent. Conscientiousness implies a desire to do a task well, and to take obligations to others seriously. Conscientious people tend to be efficient and organized as opposed to easy-going and disorderly. They exhibit a tendency to show self-discipline, act dutifully, and aim for achievement; they display planned rather than spontaneous behavior; and they are generally dependable. It is manifested in characteristic behaviors such as being neat, and systematic; also including such elements as carefulness, thoroughness, and deliberation (the tendency to think carefully before acting). Conscientious individuals are generally hard-working, and reliable. When taken to an extreme, they may also be "workaholics", perfectionists, and compulsive in their behavior. People who score low on conscientiousness tend to be laid back, less goal-oriented, and less driven by success.

Your tendency summary Those who are more conscientious tend to be more self-disciplined and persistent.

Extraversion

Extraversion is the state of primarily obtaining gratification from outside oneself

Genetic signal: 64%

The traits of extraversion and introversion are a central dimension in some human personality theories. The terms introversion and extraversion were introduced into psychology by Carl Jung, although both the popular understanding and current psychological usage vary. Extraversion tends to be manifested in outgoing, talkative, energetic behavior, whereas introversion is manifested in more reflective and reserved behavior. Jung defined introversion as an "attitude-type characterised by orientation in life through subjective psychic contents", and extraversion as "an attitude-type characterised by concentration of interest on the external object".

Your tendency summary Those who rank lower in extroversion tend to prefer being by themselves.

Agreeableness

Agreeableness measures how easily a person connects with others

Genetic signal: 18%

Agreeableness is a personality trait manifesting itself in individual behavioral characteristics that are perceived as kind, sympathetic, cooperative, warm, and considerate. In contemporary personality psychology, agreeableness is one of the five major dimensions of personality structure, reflecting individual differences in cooperation and social harmony. People who score high on this dimension are empathetic and altruistic, while a low agreeableness score relates to selfish behavior and a lack of empathy. Those who score very low on agreeableness show signs of dark triad behavior such as manipulation and competing with others rather than cooperating. Agreeableness is considered to be a superordinate trait, meaning that it is a grouping of personality sub-traits that cluster together statistically. The lower-level traits, or facets, grouped under agreeableness are: trust, straightforwardness, altruism, compliance, modesty, and tender-mindedness.

Your tendency summary Those who are more agreeable tend be more patient and empathetic toward others.

Neuroticism

Neuroticism is the trait disposition to experience negative affects

Genetic signal: 18%

Individuals who score high on neuroticism are more likely than average to be moody and to experience such feelings as anxiety, worry, fear, anger, frustration, envy, jealousy, guilt, depressed mood, and loneliness. People who are neurotic respond worse to stressors and are more likely to interpret ordinary situations as threatening and minor frustrations as hopelessly difficult. They are often self-conscious and shy, and they may have trouble controlling urges and delaying gratification. Persons with a high neuroticism index are at risk for the development and onset of common mental disorders, such as mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and substance use disorder, symptoms which had traditionally been called neuroses.

Your tendency summary Those who rank higher in neuroticism tend be more easily upset and less comfortable with themselves.

Reading Your Results Responsibly

Understanding what these findings mean, and what they do not

1

Genetics Influence, Not Determine

No single gene defines personality. These results describe tendencies observed in research populations: possibilities that interact with everything else in your life.

2

Environment and Experience Matter

Upbringing, relationships, culture, and life circumstances shape personality at least as much as biology. These forces work together, not separately.

3

Results Describe Probabilities

These are statistical associations: patterns observed across many people. They indicate likelihood, not certainty about you as an individual.

4

Growth Is Always Possible

Personality is not fixed. People grow, adapt, and change throughout life. Genetic tendencies are starting points, not destinations.

5

Neuroticism Is Not a Defect

Higher genetic tendency toward emotional sensitivity does not mean something is wrong with you. It reflects how strongly you may react to stress, which many people manage well with support and strategies.

This report is for educational and reflective purposes only. It does not constitute psychological assessment, diagnosis, or advice. Personality is lived and experienced, richer than any report can capture. For comprehensive personality assessment or mental health concerns, consult qualified professionals.

Chapter 6

Understanding the Big Five

The foundation of personality science

The Big Five personality traits, also known as the OCEAN model, represent the most widely accepted framework in personality psychology.

Developed through decades of research, these five dimensions capture the fundamental ways people differ from one another. While genetics contributes to these traits, your experiences, choices, and environment shape how they manifest in your life.

What you will find here are genetic tendencies: patterns that research has associated with personality-related outcomes. Think of them as possibilities to reflect on, not deterministic blueprints.

Genetics offers tendencies, not destinies. Your life writes the story.

Curiosity, creativity, and receptiveness to new experiences

Conscientiousness

Extraversion

Sociability, assertiveness, and orientation to social interaction
