Abstract

Summary of the research findings

Ancient DNA analysis has become a powerful tool for kinship analysis in archaeological contexts. This study presents the genetic analysis of skeletal remains from the archaeological site of 'El Cerro de la Horra' in Burgos, Spain. DNA extraction and amplification were performed on bone and tooth samples to determine familial relationships among the individuals buried at the site. STR markers and mitochondrial DNA analysis were used to establish kinship patterns and population genetics of this ancient population.
