Abstract
Summary of the research findings
The Norman Conquest of Sicily in the 11th century CE marked the end of Muslim rule and the beginning of Latin Christian dominance on the island. To investigate the biological impact of this political and cultural transformation, we analyzed newly generated genome-wide data of 40 individuals from the Medieval cemetery of San Michele del Golfo near Palermo.
