The North Sea region has been a hub of trade and migration for millennia, but the extent of historical human mobility across it remains poorly understood. Here, we analyze genomic ancestry variation in present-day individuals with ancestors from the North Sea region using 858,635 individuals with documented ancestry from the Netherlands between 1600-1900.
