Abstract

Summary of the research findings

Tobacco smoking is an established risk factor for colorectal cancer. However, genetically defined population subgroups may have increased susceptibility to smoking-related effects on colorectal cancer.

18,781 European ancestry ever-smoker cases, 14,975 European ancestry never-smoker cases, 22,370 European ancestry ever-smoker controls, 21,976 European ancestry never-smoker controls
